Tottenham Hotspur are becoming concerned by Bayern Munich's pursuit of Harry Kane, according to a report.

Bayern Munich's interest in Harry Kane is reportedly becoming of 'increasing concern' to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bundesliga champions decided against signing a replacement for Robert Lewandowski over the summer but are expected to be in the market for a high-profile number nine ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Bayern have allegedly identified Kane as their number one target, and according to 90min, Spurs are becoming concerned by the interest from the Munich giants.

The report claims that the German side have 'stepped up their pursuit' of the England international, who is open to the idea of moving to Allianz Arena during next summer's transfer window.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg recently said that he is "convinced" Bayern would attempt to sign Kane at the end of the season.

"I am convinced that Kane will be Bayern Munich's real market target next summer. It will depend on the player's performance this season, but Bayern has the money. [Kingsley] Coman, [Sadio] Mane, [Serge] Gnabry are there, but a number nine is missing," Plettenberg told Sky Italia.

The forward's current deal with Spurs is due to expire in June 2024, and it is alleged that official talks over an extension are yet to take place.

Kane, who was strongly linked with a switch to Manchester City last summer, scored 27 goals and registered 10 assists in 50 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign.

The Englishman has also started this season in impressive form, scoring six times and registering one assist in nine appearances, with his six goals coming in seven Premier League outings.

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann refused to rule out a move for Kane when questioned on the Spurs forward during the summer transfer window.

"He's very expensive that's the problem - but brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] No 10, but he's very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet," Nagelsmann told reporters.

"He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don't know the price, but it's really tough for Bayern Munich. We'll see what happens in the future."

Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are among the other clubs believed to keeping a close eye on his situation in North London.

Tottenham would not be in a strong position to demand a high transfer fee for Kane next summer unless the striker signs a contract extension in the near future.
