A report claims that Barcelona want to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio to replace Ivan Rakitic, who is expected to make way in the summer.

Barcelona have reportedly lined up Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to replace Ivan Rakitic ahead of next season.

Rakitic is expected to be phased out in the coming months to make way for a new-look midfield.

A deal has already been struck with Ajax for Frenkie de Jong and, according to Don Balon, Milinkovic-Savic could be the next arrival at Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent transfer windows, while Real Madrid are also rumoured to have shown an interest at one point.

Ironically, though, the Red Devils have turned their back on the Serbian as they are the firm favourites to sign Rakitic from Barcelona.

Lazio were asking for more than £100m for their prized asset last summer, but the report indicates that he will be available for a smaller fee this time around.
