Manchester United allegedly turned down the opportunity to loan Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar earlier in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United were allegedly given the chance to loan Neymar earlier in the transfer window, only to reject the opportunity to sign the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Just two years after signing for the Ligue 1 champions for a world-record fee, Neymar is looking to leave the Parc des Princes, preferably for former club Barcelona.

However, it has been claimed that there are financial constraints at Camp Nou, leading to PSG to explore other options with regards to securing an exit for the Brazilian.

According to Sport, PSG have been in touch with Man United, but the Premier League giants were not interested in putting together a deal for the 27-year-old.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Neymar, although the La Liga side are unlikely to be able to afford a deal for the attacker unless they drastically reduce their wage bill.

Neymar still has three years left on his PSG contract.
