Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly made contact with the agent of Gent striker Jonathan David over a possible summer move.
A number of Europe's top clubs are understood to have been alerted to David's fine form this season, with the 20-year-old having scored 23 goals and created 10 more in 40 outings across all competitions.
Gent are reluctant to lose their star man, but Dutch outlet HLN report that both United and Arsenal have already held exploratory talks with his agent Nick Mavromaras.
Both clubs are thought to be in the market for a new striker this summer, with United having failed to permanently replace Romelu Lukaku last year and Arsenal still uncertain over the futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Everton are also thought to be monitoring his situation, while elsewhere in Europe there is interest from Inter Milan, Ajax and Porto.
Gent are expected to demand a fee in excess of €25m (£22.5m) for David, who has scored 11 goals in 12 senior games for Canada.
