Louis van Gaal keen on January arrivals

Louis van Gaal confirms that Manchester United are hoping to bring in new players in the January transfer window.

Louis van Gaal has claimed that Manchester United are exploring the possibility of bringing in new players in the January transfer window.

United were busy in the summer as they brought in the likes of Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial and Matteo Darmian, but Van Gaal is keen to improve the squad once again.

However, the Dutchman admits that the club could find it difficult to land their targets next month.

"They are always contact injuries and you cannot afford that. We have a lot of contact injuries and also long-lasting injuries so that's our problem," he told reporters.

"So we are looking [at players for January] but as you know it is not so easy to buy players and in January it is more difficult. We are looking but it is not for sure."

United are currently one point behind leaders Manchester City.
