West Ham United have reportedly been in touch with Ajax to discuss a possible deal for Brian Brobbey.
The Hammers are determined to boost their forward options before the end of the January transfer window, and the capital giants are also being heavily linked with RB Leipzig's Andre Silva.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Brobbey is also a target, with the Netherlands international having huge admirers at the London Stadium, but a number of other clubs are also believed to be in the race.
Ajax are allegedly not prepared to let the forward leave on loan before the end of the transfer window unless there is an obligation to buy this summer, while a permanent exit this month is also seen as a possibility.
Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest the 22-year-old, while Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs to previously be linked with the Dutchman.
Brobbey has been a regular for Ajax during the 2024-25 campaign, making 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering seven assists in the process.

Milan 'preparing fresh bid for Gimenez'
Meanwhile, AC Milan are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.
The Mexico international has again been in strong form for his Dutch outfit during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 15 goals and registering three assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
Gimenez has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Milan now appear to be at the head of the queue for the 23-year-old, who has scored seven times in 11 league appearances during the current campaign.
Romano claims that Milan have already come to an agreement with Gimenez over a contract until June 2028, with the option of a further 12 months, but a transfer fee is yet to be agreed.
The San Siro giants are believed to have failed with an opening offer for Gimenez but are now preparing to place a new bid on the table, with a deal expected to go through before the end of the winter transfer window.
The Mexican has scored 64 goals and registered 14 assists in 104 matches for Feyenoord in all competitions.

Leverkusen 'interested in loan move for Buendia'
Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen are allegedly keen to sign Aston Villa attacker Emiliano Buendia on loan before the end of the January transfer window.
Villa are prepared to let the 28-year-old depart before the end of the month, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding the Argentine, with River Plate heavily linked with his services.
However, according to Sky Deutschland, Leverkusen are also in the mix, with the Bundesliga giants considering making a loan move.
The report claims that Villa want an obligation to buy in the summer to be included in any deal, but it is unclear at this stage whether Leverkusen want Buendia on a long-term basis.
The South American has made 18 appearances for Villa during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring once, but he has only played 71 minutes across 11 Premier League outings this term.
Buendia was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI against Monaco in the Champions League last week, playing 86 minutes of what proved to be a 1-0 defeat for Unai Emery's side.
