Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag could make three changes to his starting side for Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

The 20-time English champions recorded a 1-0 win over Omonia in the Europa League on Thursday, and there will be alterations from that contest, with Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof and Fred potentially dropping out.

Luke Shaw is set to get the nod at left-back due to a strong performance in Man United's 2-1 victory over Everton in the league last weekend, while fit-again Raphael Varane should be back in the middle of defence.

Fred is also likely to drop out of the midfield, with Christian Eriksen set to start alongside Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, with Thursday's match-winner Scott McTominay out through suspension.

Man United will have to make a late call on Anthony Martial, with the Frenchman struggling to overcome the back injury that he picked up against Everton.

As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo could again get the nod at centre-forward, with Antony and Marcus Rashford set to continue in the wide areas this weekend.

Man United's absentee list is fairly lengthy at the moment, with Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Axel Tuanzebe all injured.

Martin Dubravka is also ineligible to face his parent club, while Mason Greenwood remains suspended by the 20-time English champions until further notice.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Ronaldo, Rashford
