Louis van Gaal: 'I've raised the atmosphere in Manchester United dressing room'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says that he has 'raised the atmosphere' in the team's dressing room.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that he has helped "raise the atmosphere" in the dressing room.

The Red Devils have had a difficult season, which has led to reports that Van Gaal will get sacked at the end of the campaign.

However, they head into tonight's match against Watford on the back of a three-game winning run.

Last week the team sealed victories over Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup, FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and earned a 3-2 triumph over Arsenal at Old Trafford.

"I think the atmosphere is always the most important thing - when you go to work and have a sad atmosphere, then you don't go in with open eyes," Van Gaal told reporters.

"It is very important and we have spoken a lot about the atmosphere in the dressing room. I did some changes in the approach and structure and rhythm of the day to raise the atmosphere.

"In football and in sport, you have to win to raise the atmosphere, so now we have won three times and now everyone is happy - the fans are happy, even the media are happy. It is unbelievable."

Eighteen-year-old Marcus Rashford has scored four goals in his last two appearances for the senior team.
