Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hints that Facundo Pellistri could soon be ready to make his first-team debut.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that Facundo Pellistri is edging closer to a first-team debut.

When arriving at Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, the Uruguayan teenager had been expected to be handed minutes from the substitutes' bench.

Instead, the winger has spent time in the reserves, contributing one goal and one assist from five outings for the Under-23s.

While the 18-year-old may have to wait a few more weeks for a senior appearance, Solskjaer has suggested that Pellistri is in his thoughts heading into the Christmas period.

Speaking to reporters, Solskjaer said: "Facundo has come in, trained with the first team, done well, we felt now is time for him to get game time, and he's played a couple of games in the reserves and is gradually settled in nicely and getting more used to us."

Pellistri could potentially be involved in United's EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Everton on December 23 or the FA Cup third-round clash against Watford on January 9.
