Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes claims that his retirement from football will be definite this time.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has said that his second retirement from football will be for definite.

The 38-year-old announced his decision on Saturday evening and said that he will not be returning to the club again after he was coaxed back to football in 2011 following his retirement in 2010.

"I think it is definite, in fact I know it is this time," Scholes told his former teammate Gary Neville on Sky Sports News.

"The last four months of the season have not gone as well as I would have liked with injuries. I've had it in my head that I have gone on as long as I physically can. I won't be coming out of retirement again.

"The [squad] won't have me in the dressing room with them next season."

Scholes has made 716 appearances for United in a career that has spanned over 20 years.
