Manchester United legend Paul Scholes reportedly has no interest in becoming the next manager of Oldham Athletic.
The 42-year-old is a boyhood fan of the Latics and on Wednesday, it was claimed that he had entered talks to fill the vacant managerial position at Boundary Park.
However, according to BBC Sport, Scholes was only acting in an advisory capacity and will not become the successor to John Sheridan.
Scholes has previously worked on the coaching staff at United, but is yet to take charge of a club at any level since his retirement in 2013.
Oldham endured a poor start to the season but the North-West outfit have registered three wins in a row in League One under interim boss Richie Wellens.
