Ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers rules out managing Manchester United

Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers rules out managing Manchester United in the future.

Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has ruled out the possibility of managing Manchester United in the future.

The Northern Irishman has been out of work since October after he was sacked by the Reds following a three-and-a-half-year spell.

During Rodgers's time in charge, Liverpool lost six of eight fixtures against their arch rivals, winning two during David Moyes's spell in the 2013-14 season.

Louis van Gaal remains at the helm of Old Trafford and his contract does not expire until the end of next season's campaign.

When asked during an interview with talkSPORT if he would take charge of the Red Devils, Rodgers said: "When you manage Liverpool you know the Manchester United job is gone."

United are currently fifth in the Premier League table, five points off fourth.
