David Moyes backs Manchester United for "better performance"

David Moyes backs his Manchester United side to return to winning ways at Sunderland.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has backed his side to produce a "better performance" in today's match against Sunderland.

The Red Devils have lost their last two Premier League games - 4-1 at Manchester City and 2-1 to West Bromwich Albion - but Moyes believes that his players will return to winning ways this evening.

"Hopefully we are going to go out there and put on a better performance than the last game that is for sure," Moyes told Sky Sports News.

"We have not had the chance to play them [Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie] together as often as we like because of niggling injuries but hopefully we can get the two firing.

"Sunderland have played OK. I actually saw them against West Brom and there was not a lot between the sides. Kevin Ball I know very well, he is very experienced, he will be hoping to get the job and a result today I am sure."

Adnan Januzaj and Nani have both been named in the United team for their trip to the Stadium of Light.
