Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea played a key role as Jose Mourinho's team ran out 1-0 winners at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has suggested that David de Gea was all who stood between his side earning a positive result against Manchester United.

On Wednesday night, a goal from Romelu Lukaku made the difference as United ran out 1-0 winners at Old Trafford, leaving Bournemouth without a Premier League victory in five attempts.

However, despite the performance of the United goalkeeper, Howe has delighted with his side's showing in the North-West.

The 40-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "They have an outstanding goalkeeper who made a number of good saves and maybe we could have done better in and around their box.

"When you consider the opposition and where we were playing, I was very pleased with my players."

Bournemouth are next in action when they host Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
