Paul Pogba reportedly battles through the pain barrier during his two substitute appearances for Manchester United against Watford and Newcastle United last month.

Paul Pogba reportedly battled through the pain barrier during his two substitute appearances for Manchester United against Watford and Newcastle United last month.

The Frenchman returned from a foot injury, initially sustained in late August, at Vicarage Road and gave an encouraging display in midfield.

However, having missed recent meetings with Burnley and Arsenal, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Pogba's injury would require surgery.

According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder was already feeling pain in the affected area while playing against Watford.

United have confirmed that Pogba will be out of action for up to six weeks after successfully undergoing surgery on Thursday.

The 26-year-old's prolonged spell on the sidelines serves as yet another blow to United's midfield after Scott McTominay picked up a knee ligament injury on Boxing Day.
