Kevin De Bruyne ruled out for "around 10 weeks"

Manchester City winger Kevin De Bruyne reveals that he will be out for "around 10 weeks" through injury.

Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he will be out for "around 10 weeks" through injury.

The Belgian came off the bench to have a match-winning impact during his side's League Cup semi-final second leg with Everton on Wednesday, scoring one goal and creating another to fire his side into the final.

However, he fell awkwardly during stoppage time and had to be stretchered off with his leg in a brace due to suspected ligament damage.

Initial reports suggested that De Bruyne would miss "at least six weeks", but the player revealed on Twitter this evening that he will be sidelined for longer than that.

"Just got back from the specialist. I'll be out for around 10 weeks," he wrote.

"I'll work hard on my recovery and hope to be back on the pitch asap. Thank you all for the supportive messages!"

The length of the injury means that De Bruyne will miss the League Cup final against Liverpool in addition to the Champions League last-16 tie with Dynamo Kiev.
