Pepe Reina will be dropped to the bench if Simon Mignolet completes his move to Liverpool from Sunderland, according to a report.

Pepe Reina will reportedly be relegated to second choice at Liverpool if Simon Mignolet joins the club.

The Belgium international is close to sealing a move to Anfield for a fee in the region of £11m from Sunderland.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has told Mignolet he will be his number one next season, which will drop the Spaniard to the bench, reports The Mirror.

Reina has been at Liverpool since 2005 and has made over 350 appearances for the Reds in his time at the club.
