Mamadou Sakho hails Liverpool mental strength

Mamadou Sakho hails Liverpool's mental strength following their 3-2 victory over Spurs.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has praised the team's mental strength following their win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds gave their hopes of Champions League qualification a big boost last night by beating Spurs 3-2 at Anfield.

Mario Balotelli netted his first Premier League goal for the club with seven minutes remaining to hand them three vital points in their quest for a top-four finish.

"It was a very good game for the team," Sakho told Liverpool's official website. "We were very strong mentally and we stayed focused on our objective. I think altogether we worked for this and tonight I think the team stayed focused and we demonstrated a good mentality."

Liverpool continue their FA Cup campaign on Saturday when they travel to Crystal Palace in the fifth round.
