Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praises the goalscoring form of Adam Lallana after his brace in the 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the goalscoring form of Adam Lallana following his brace in the 3-0 win over Middlesbrough this evening.

Lallana scored two and created another to help his side climb up to second in the Premier League table, taking his tally for the season to six goals - already two more than he managed in the whole of the 2015-16 campaign.

Klopp reserved special praise for the England international and was especially pleased with his side's second-half performance at the Riverside.

"Not bad, eh? In the first half we were good, the second we were much better," he told BBC Sport.

"We had moments in the first half where we were static and even I was confused. We did much better second half, we could have finished more often. Adam Lallana is improving even when he doesn't score, but it's nice he's in that situation.

"About a year ago I had sat him in the office and I was happy with him but he was like 'I'm not scoring'. And I said he wasn't in the right positions. Tonight he was twice in the right position and it was wonderful."

Liverpool's next match sees them take on Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Monday.
