Jordon Ibe pleased for Danny Ings

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe says that he is pleased for Danny Ings after the new striker scored his first goal for the club in a pre-season friendly.

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has said that it was "great" to see Danny Ings get off the mark for the club.

Ings struck Liverpool's second goal in their 2-0 victory over Adelaide United yesterday morning, the first time he has found the net for the Reds since his summer move from Burnley.

The result saw Brendan Rodgers's side maintain their 100% record so far in pre-season, and Ibe is hopeful that Ings and his fellow new additions can help Liverpool to improve when the competitive campaign begins next month.

"It was great to see Danny get his first goal," Ibe told LFCTour.com.

"I've been chatting with him and he's been wanting to score. He's a great player and I'm happy for him. He makes runs in behind, he's very quick and you saw how well he played in the Premier League last season.

"With all of the new players coming in hopefully they can add a different style and bring goals to the team."

Liverpool face trips to Malaysia and Finland before getting their Premier League season underway against Stoke City on August 9.
