Kenny Dalglish says that Liverpool will need to 'solve their problems' before they take on Manchester City in the second leg of the Carling Cup on Wednesday.

Kenny Dalglish believes that his Liverpool team need to improve on their "unacceptable performance" from the weekend when they face Manchester City in the second leg of the Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

The Reds boss launched a fierce tirade against the Merseyside team following their 3-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

"I was annoyed and disappointed, more so about the attitude, the commitment and the approach to the game," Dalglish told the club's official website. "That wasn't us.

"All season we've been very complimentary about the way the boys have gone about their work but I don't think you could say that on Saturday. Their approach to the game was poor.

"It was certainly an unacceptable performance. Now we will get our minds on the Man City game. We have to solve our own problems. What do we do to put it right? Same as we always do, we work."

Liverpool are six points adrift of fourth place in the Premier League table.
