Leicester City are given a boost as Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi nears a return to full fitness after a spell on the sidelines.

Leicester City have been handed a boost in the last week, as midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to be fit to make a return to action after an injury.

The Nigerian picked up a hamstring issue last month and was initially given a timeline of between four and five weeks, but he is now expected to come back ahead of time.

Ndidi returned to training with the Foxes last week, as revealed by Leicestershire Live, and he was a somewhat surprising inclusion on the bench for Saturday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Brendan Rodgers is now expected to welcome the midfielder back to full action on Thursday, when they play host to Spartak Moscow in the Europa League group stage.

Such a match acts as a replay after the two sides met in the third round of fixtures earlier in October, as Patson Daka inspired a comeback win with four goals to seal a dramatic 4-3 win for the Foxes.

Should he be deemed fit, Ndidi will feature for the first time since late September, when he picked up a hamstring injury after featuring in every minute of the first six games of the Premier League campaign.
