Ten-man Lazio strike late to draw 3-3 against Hellas Verona

Lazio score a 93rd-minute equaliser in a dramatic six-goal Serie A match against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio scored a 93rd-minute equaliser in a dramatic six-goal Serie A match against Hellas Verona this evening that saw both sides end the game with 10 men.

Early on Luca Toni missed an opportunity to put the visitors in front before Lazio took the lead on the half-hour mark.

The hosts broke quickly upfield and worked the ball neatly for Stefan Radu to finish with aplomb.

Verona were back on level terms seven minutes later when Marquinho fired a snapshot low into the bottom corner from just outside the area.

Lazio retook the lead after an hour of play when Senad Lulic rifled home after the ball ricocheted his way in the area.

Again, Lazio's lead lasted less than 10 minutes as Juan Iturbe slotted home an equaliser the 69th minute.

They then went in front for the first time in the 83rd minute when Emil Hallfredsson's cross reached Romulo at the back post to tap in.

Lulic was then sent off for a nasty challenge and the hosts' chances of an equaliser looked over.

They were awarded a last-gasp penalty though when Michelangelo Albertazzi was adjudged to have brought down Miroslav Klose and shown his second yellow card.

Stefano Mauri's spot kick was saved by Rafael but the rebound fell straight back for him to poke home.

A point isn't useful for either side. They remain just about in the hunt for a European place in ninth and 10th.
