Juventus edge past AC Milan in extra time to win Coppa Italia and seal domestic double

The Rossoneri were first to threaten as Giacomo Bonaventura edged into the penalty area just before the quarter-hour mark and shot narrowly wide of the right post.

Andrea Poli then blasted just over the bar from the edge of the box after good work from Keisuke Honda in the 39th minute.

Milan's teenage goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was in inspired form as he kept out efforts from Paul Pogba and Mario Lemina, helping Cristian Brocchi's charges maintain a clean sheet and force extra time.

Juve, the more dangerous side on the night, ultimately grabbed the winner in the 110th minute as Alvaro Morata volleyed the ball from inside the box into the bottom left corner.

The result means that Massimiliano Allegri's side have claimed both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia two seasons running.
