Greuther Furth are relegated from the Bundesliga following a 3-2 defeat to Hannover.

An 87th-minute winner has sealed a 3-2 victory for Hannover over Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga this evening, relegating their opponents.

Both sides had chances early in the match, but it was the visitors who took the lead, with Didier Ya Konan crossing the ball in for Mohammed Abdellaoue to tap in from close range.

Hannover's lead lasted for just five minutes, with Nikola Djurdjic smashing the equaliser in from the centre of the box to get Furth back on level terms ahead of half time.

Park Jun-Bin had a chance to put the hosts ahead early in the second half, but his strike drifted wide of the post, before a Konstantin Rausch effort at the other end of the pitch forced a save from Wolfgang Hesl.

Hannover reclaimed the lead in the 71st minute, as Andre Hoffmann headed in from a Rausch corner.

Thomas Pledl and Thomas Kleine both had chances to add a second for the home side, but some solid defending from the visitors ensured that they kept their advantage.

Furth won a free kick with just over five minutes to play, and Djurdjic rose high in the penalty area to head the ball into the net.

However, Hannover went ahead for a third time in the 87th minute as Sergio da Silva Pinto picked up the ball from a Mame Biram Diouf header, tapping it in to secure the victory.
