A report claims that three other clubs have shown an interest in Cenk Tosun, which has forced Everton into action to get a deal over the line.

Everton fear missing out on Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun and have sent a delegation to Istanbul to keep the £25m transfer alive, according to a report.

The Toffees are understood to have been close to finalising a move for the Turkey international, only for a number of other European sides to join the race.

Roma, Valencia and RB Leipzig have all supposedly shown an interest, which could derail Everton's hopes of bringing in the 26-year-old next month.

In an attempt to clinch a deal, however, The Mirror claims that a team led by director of football Steve Walsh has been sent to Turkey with the intention of reaching an agreement over the weekend.

Tosun has 41 goals in 96 Super Lig appearances for Besiktas since 2014, including eight so far this season.

Premier League pair Newcastle United and Crystal Palace also have a confirmed interest in former Eintracht Frankfurt ace.
