Sean Dyche would reportedly be interested in becoming Everton manager if the Merseyside outfit part ways with Frank Lampard.

Sean Dyche reportedly holds an interest in becoming manager of Everton if Frank Lampard does not remain in charge of the Toffees.

As he approaches a year at Goodison Park, speculation persists that Lampard may soon be removed from his position in the dugout at the Merseyside outfit.

Everton have won just three of their 18 Premier League fixtures during 2022-23, leaving the club sitting in 18th position in the standings.

Just one victory has been posted in their last 12 outings in all competitions, that success coming back on October 22 at home to Crystal Palace.

With a home fixture versus bottom-of-the-table Southampton to come on January 14, club officials are unlikely to make any decisions regarding Lampard's future over the next week.

Nevertheless, there would not be a shortage of interested parties if Everton opted to make a change in the dugout for the second half of the season.

According to The Sun, Dyche would put his name forward should Everton begin a search for a replacement over the coming weeks.

The 51-year-old has been out of work since April when Burnley made the surprise decision to part ways with their long-serving manager, rather than keep faith with Dyche during the run-in.

Burnley were subsequently relegated on the final day of the season, something which arguably enhanced Dyche's stock having previously kept the Clarets in the top flight in the previous five seasons.

While Dyche has been linked with numerous positions since his exit from Turf Moor, he has been required to remain patient in his search for another opportunity.

The report adds that Dyche has rejected chances to take over a number of Championship clubs in the hope of gaining a Premier League role.

Former player Wayne Rooney, who is currently in charge of DC United, would also come into contention should Everton require a new manager over the coming weeks.

Although the England legend has won just two of his 14 matches in charge of the MLS side, the 37-year-old's stock remains high in English football due to the job that he did with a financially-stricken Derby County side.
