Wayne Rooney has reportedly made himself available for selection for Everton's meeting against Manchester United, which comes less than 24 hours before his court case.

Wayne Rooney has reportedly informed Everton boss Ronald Koeman that he does not intend to take time off with sympathetic leave ahead of his impending court case.

The ex-England international's private life has come into focus once again over the past fortnight following his drink-driving charge.

Rooney was caught driving while allegedly three times over the limit on September 1 and is due to appear in court next Monday, the day after Everton face his former side Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Despite playing the full 90 minutes of the Toffees' 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, there had been suggestions that the 31-year-old would ask for a leave of absence due to the attention that will be on him.

According to Sky Sports News, however, there is no truth to these rumours and Rooney will be present for training in the build-up to next weekend's high-profile clash.

Rooney has two goals and an assist in eight outings for Everton since returning to his boyhood club in the summer transfer window.
