Everton manager David Moyes admits that Nikica Jelavic has done better than expected following his January move from Rangers.

Everton manager David Moyes has admitted that striker Nikica Jelavic has exceeded expectations following his January move from Rangers.

The Croatian has made an impressive start to life at Goodison Park as eight goals in 12 games have made him top scorer for the Toffees.

"At the moment his form has been excellent and he has exceeded expectations," said Moyes.

"He has finished moves off and made us look clinical in the box. In the early part of the season it looked like we would have to score a brilliant goal.

"I am sure we are still looking to see what is the best type of player to play with Jelavic and how we can mould that for the years to come."

Everton will follow up last weekend's 4-4 draw at Manchester United when they host Fulham on Saturday.
