Dallas have secured a 2-1 victory over New York City FC in their MLS clash this evening.
The home side came close to take the lead when Lucas Barrios was afforded space and time on the edge of the box to fire at goal, but his effort was saved by Josh Saunders.
Andrea Pirlo had the opportunity to put the visitors ahead when City won a free kick on the edge of the box. The Italian curled his effort over the wall, but his strike was saved by Jesse Gonzalez.
Fabian Castillo came close to breaking the deadlock for Dallas when he raided down the left and weaved his way through two defenders before seeing his strike well saved by Saunders.
The hosts took the lead just before the break when Tesho Akindele found space down the right and unleashed a rocket of a strike into the top corner, leaving Saunders with no chance.
Dallas doubled their lead in the third minute of stoppage time before the half-time whistle when Michel managed to curl the ball directly into the net from a right-wing corner.
New York were handed a chance to get back into the game in the second half when Atiba Harris was adjudged to have elbowed Ned Grabavoy in the face, resulting in a penalty being awarded. Patrick Mullins took the spot kick and curled his strike into the bottom corner.
The visitors put the pressure on late in the game to push for an equaliser, but Dallas held out for the win.
