A report claims that Chelsea will reject any approaches for defender David Luiz, who is an apparent target of European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Chelsea will reportedly not consider selling centre-back David Luiz this summer amid interest in the Brazilian from European giants Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Champions League winners Bayern could launch a £34m bid for the 26-year-old, who has also been identified as a possible answer to Barca's long-standing defensive concerns.

New Blues boss Jose Mourinho was initially unsure of Luiz's Stamford Bridge future, but it now appears that the Portuguese tactician sees the fan favourite as an unsellable asset.

Luiz returned to Chelsea training on Sunday after a prolonged end-of-season break following Brazil's Confederations Cup triumph.

The Telegraph reports that he is happy with life in London, but may be prepared to leave the Europa League winners for a club outside of England.
