Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola makes Chelsea defender David Luiz his top transfer target, according to reports.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has reportedly been selected as a surprise transfer target by new Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola.

After watching Luiz star during Brazil's Confederations Cup success, Guardiola has instructed Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer to enquire about his availability as an urgent priority, according to the Daily Star.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a summer switch to Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho thought to be unsure over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Bayern boss Guardiola is desperate to sign a central defender this summer, with reported interest in Arsenal sweeper Laurent Koscielny thought to have reached a dead end.

Before Luiz's future can be decided the Brazilian is due to undergo surgery on a broken nose this week, which he sustained in the Selecao's 2-0 win over Mexico.
