Liverpool to rival Chelsea for Lazar Markovic?

Liverpool are reportedly poised to outbid Chelsea to land Benfica midfielder Lazar Markovic this summer as Brendan Rodgers looks to add depth to his squad.

Liverpool are prepared to battle Chelsea this summer to land Benfica midfielder Lazar Markovic in a £20m deal, according to a report.

The 20-year-old has impressed the Premier League clubs this season with his performances for the Portuguese side, especially in the Europa League.

The Reds are ready to outbid the Blues to secure the signing of the Serbian international as Brendan Rodgers seeks to add depth to his side for their expected participation in the Champions League next season, reports The Mirror.

Markovic has made 32 appearances for Benfica this season, scoring six goals.
