Serie A outfit Lazio have lined up Chelsea's 26-year-old midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a potential replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report.
With the former seeing his contract expire in June 2023, he will enter the final year of his deal at Stamford Bridge during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Englishman has previously struggled for form and fitness at Chelsea, but after being handed an opportunity by Thomas Tuchel in recent weeks, Loftus-Cheek has enjoyed a consistent spell in the side, which included the midfielder netting the opening goal of Chelsea's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final earlier in April.
However, Corriere Dello Sport are reporting that Lazio are interested in bringing Loftus-Cheek to Rome, with Milinkovic-Savic potentially leaving the club this summer.
The report outlines how the Serbian is likely to leave Maurizio Sarri's side, which has led to the former Chelsea boss being interested in raiding his former club for Loftus-Cheek, whom he worked with during their time together at Stamford Bridge in the 2018-19 campaign.
Although, the report continues with how Lazio's interest could be dictated by their league finish in Serie A this season, with finances being tight unless European football can be secured.
Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek most recently appeared in Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday, and could next be involved when his side make the trip to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
