New Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez refuses to focus on his relationship with striker Fernando Torres.

New Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has refused to focus on his relationship with misfiring striker Fernando Torres.

Benitez, who was confirmed as the Blues' new manager yesterday evening, was responsible for bringing Torres to England while in charge of Liverpool, overseeing a glittering period of form for the striker.

Some reports have suggested that Benitez's relationship with Torres was a factor in his appointment, but the former Valencia and Inter Milan boss was keen to focus on the whole team.

"Everybody wants to be talking about Fernando but I want to talk about all the players. He and the others were training really well today," said Benitez.

"Today I saw a lot of players with great attitude. Fernando was one of them but there was also Oscar, Mata, Ramires, Azpilicueta and others.

"He's one of the important players of this team and I'd like to improve him as I'd like to improve the others."

Benitez's first match in charge of Chelsea will come against league leaders Manchester City this weekend.
