Late Nolito strike wins it for Celta Vigo

Nolito scores in the 89th minute to give Celta Vigo a 1-0 win over Malaga at Balaidos.

Celta Vigo left it late to record a 1-0 win over Malaga at Balaidos this evening, taking them up to ninth in La Liga.

Pablo Hernandez had Celta's first real opening but he couldn't divert a header goalwards after an inviting cross from Fabian Orellana.

Some good work from Nolito then set up Charles for the home side before the half-hour mark, but the latter couldn't find the target from a tight angle.

Ricardo Horta saw a shot saved for Malaga before the break before Nolito had an effort blocked down the other end on the cusp of half time.

Both teams had chances in the second period through Roberto Rosales and Hernandez, who struck the post on the hour mark.

However, with around a minute of normal time remaining, Nolito pounced with a low effort into the corner to give Celta the points.
