Sports Mole previews the Championship encounter between leaders Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.

Both of these teams have suspensions to contend with heading into their Boxing Day clash in the capital of Wales.

Hosting Cardiff City will be without Matthew Connelly, who is banned for one match because he has acquired five yellow cards this season. The experienced Kevin McNaughton has been tipped to replace Connelly in defence.

Meanwhile, striker Tommy Smith is unlikely to be risked by manager Malky Mackay, while Kadeem Harris won't be used because of an ankle injury.

Visiting manager Ian Holloway will have to make do without Damien Delaney, who was red carded last time out. Welsh international Danny Gabbidon will reportedly deputise in Delaney's absence.

Victory for Palace would move them to within a point of their hosts, who are currently top of the Championship table.
