Cardiff City to revert back to blue shirts

Cardiff City make the decision to revert back to their previous blue shirts after a spell wearing red under owner Vincent Tan.

Cardiff City have decided to return to their traditional blue shirts after meeting with supporters on Thursday night.

After taking over the club in 2012, Vincent Tan quickly instigated a change in shirt colour, insisting that red would provide more appeal in international markets.

However, the controversial move was never completely accepted by the club's fans, and after supporters unanimously voted for the return to blue, the Championship outfit have opted to make the switch.

Alterations have also been made to the club's crest, with the bluebird returning to take the place of a red dragon that was also installed by Tan.

After receiving special permission from the Football League, Cardiff will wear blue against Fulham at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
