Referee Kevin Friend has spent the night in hospital following his collapse during last night's Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Southampton.
Friend, who was on fourth official duty at the Vitality Stadium, fell and hit his head on one of the dugouts in the closing stages of the first half.
The incident left the 44-year-old with a bloodied nose and following treatment he was taken to hospital.
The Bristol-based official stayed in for observations as a precaution and is expected to be released later today.
Friend was replaced by non-league referee Dean Treleaven, who was a spectator in the crowd.
