Half-Time Report: Ciro Immobile gives Borussia Dortmund the lead

Ciro Immobile gives Borussia Dortmund a 1-0 lead at half time against Anderlecht in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund are 45 minutes away from maintaining their lead at the top of Group D after taking a 1-0 lead in at half time away to Anderlecht in the Champions League.

The visitors were a goal up within the first five minutes, and it was Italy striker Ciro Immobile who put BVB ahead.

Immobile, who also scored against Arsenal in the first round of matches, struck when he tucked away an effort after a clever through-ball from Shinji Kagawa.

The hosts had a goal correctly chalked off minutes later for offside before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spurned a glorious chance to double the lead.

The Gabon international somehow failed to hit the target from all of five yards out after placing his shot into the side-netting.

Kevin Grosskreutz thought he had extended the advantage for Jurgen Klopp's men on 25 minutes, but the versatile German international had just strayed offside before lashing the ball in from a tight angle.
