Bayern Munich's Javi Martinez "over the moon" to be back

Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez speaks of his relief and happiness following his return to action after a lengthy injury layoff.

Javi Martinez has said that he is "over the moon" to be back playing for Bayern Munich.

The Spanish midfielder spent 13 months on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury that he suffered during a game against Borussia Dortmund.

However, the 27-year-old returned to action last month and has gone on to feature on a regular basis for the Bavarians since then.

"After 13 months out injured, lots of hard work and also a couple of difficult moments it's incredible to be back in the team, able to enjoy this beautiful game again. I'm over the moon," he told the club's official website.

Martinez joined Bayern from Athletic Bilbao for a reported £32m in August 2012.
