Report: Jonathan Soriano top of Barcelona's wishlist

A report claims that Barcelona want to re-sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Jonathan Soriano, 30, in the January transfer window.

Red Bull Salzburg forward Jonathan Soriano is reportedly Barcelona's leading target in the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old represented Barcelona B between 2009 and 2012, but did not make a single first-team appearance for the Spanish giants before leaving for Austrian football.

During his time at Red Bull, the Spaniard has scored 148 times in 163 appearances, including 20 in 18 games this season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want to sign an experienced striker to act as back-up to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, rather than an up-and-coming player with potential.

Soriano, who has previously admitted that he would find it hard to turn down the chance to return to Camp Nou, is contracted to his current club until 2018.
