Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter emerges as a transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.

The 27-year-old, who is with the Germany squad at Euro 2020, has made 148 appearances for Gladbach since arriving from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Ginter enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign at club level, making 46 outings in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process.

According to Calciomercato, Barcelona will consider moving for the Germany international if Samuel Umtiti leaves Camp Nou during this summer's transfer window.

Ginter, who played 87 minutes of his side's Euro 2020 opener against France on Wednesday, only has a contract at Borussia-Park until June 2022.

Umtiti, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move away from the Catalan giants, having only made 16 appearances for Ronald Koeman's side during the 2020-21 season.
