Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has insisted that La Liga is the club's main focus this season, and that success in the Champions League is "a bonus".
The Catalan outfit, who have won each of their four league matches this season, open their European campaign with a trip to Ajax on Wednesday.
"The team is really looking forward to the competition. The Champions League is the most prestigious one there is, at a European level, it is the most important," Pique told reporters at a press conference.
"Barca always push to win, but we must go step by step. We have to start by winning at home to make things easier.
"The main objective of the club is to win the league, while the Champions League is a bonus that means you have had a tremendously good season.
Barca were eliminated in the semi-finals of the Champions League by Bayern Munich last season.
