Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly offered the chance to sign Arsenal-linked Gabriel Jesus, whose Manchester City contract expires in 2023.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus this summer.

Despite not being a regular starter of Pep Guardiola's, Jesus ended the 2021-22 season with a respectable tally of 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

The Brazil international's 28 appearances in the Premier League brought him eight goals and nine assists, but he was only named in the first XI on 21 occasions in the English top flight.

With Julian Alvarez and Erling Braut Haaland set to arrive at the club from River Plate and Borussia Dortmund respectively, Jesus will be pushed further down the pecking order for 2022-23.

The 25-year-old is also out of contract at the Etihad Stadium in 12 months' time and is seemingly set to depart in the coming weeks before Man City run the risk of losing him on a free in 2023.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the attacker, but according to The Times, the Gunners' bitter rivals Tottenham have now been offered the chance to secure his signature.

Spurs edged out Arsenal in the race for Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season, handing Antonio Conte's side a significant advantage in the summer market.

However, the report adds that Arsenal are still optimistic about winning the race for Jesus, who is alleged to have already agreed personal terms with Mikel Arteta's side.

Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in Jesus, but Los Blancos' move for the South American will seemingly be scuppered over rules relating to non-EU players.

Man City are expected to hold out for a bid in excess of £50m for Jesus despite his contract situation, and the striker has now amassed a total of 95 goals and 46 assists in 236 games for the club since arriving from Palmeiras in 2017.

Jesus has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four EFL Cups during his time at the Etihad and is being linked with Arsenal following the departure of club captain Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman's exit from the club was confirmed earlier this month after a five-year spell, and Lyon announced that they had re-signed their former striker on a three-year deal on Thursday morning.

Eddie Nketiah is understood to have agreed terms over a new five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, but Arteta will still be in the market for at least one new striker ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are increasingly confident about their chances of keeping Harry Kane on the books following last summer's transfer saga, with the England captain enjoying life under Conte.

However, Spurs could still be on the lookout for backup and competition to Kane, who could supposedly decide to remain in North London for the rest of his career.
