Liverpool are reportedly prepared to consider Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool will reportedly consider making an approach for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto next year.

During the summer, Jurgen Klopp oversaw somewhat of an overhaul in midfield and attack, seeing some of his longest-serving players depart Anfield.

However, Dominik Szoboszlai was the only player who was acquired who is capable of playing in the front three, leaving Liverpool slightly short in that area.

That scenario could have theoretically gotten worse during the back end of the last transfer window with Mohamed Salah having been provided with the chance to make a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League.

Instead, Liverpool opted to reject any bids that arrived from the Middle East, turning down the opportunity to accept in excess of £150m for the Egypt international.

Nevertheless, with the legendary attacker having less than two years remaining on his contract, Liverpool are vulnerable to having to realistically accept an offer that comes their way if Salah does not pen a renewal.

According to FootballTransfers, consideration is being given to trying to tempt Wolves into selling Neto.

The Portugal international has endured an injury-disrupted two years at Molineux, contributing just one goal and two assists from 31 Premier League outings in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

In sharp contrast, Neto has emerged as one of the standout players in England's top flight during the current campaign, chipping in with one goal and four assists from seven appearances.

Neto, who is now 23 years of age, also ran half the length of the pitch to tee up Wolves' opener - an own goal - against Manchester City at the weekend.

Arsenal have already been credited with an ongoing interest in the former Lazio youngster, yet it appears that they may face strong competition for his signature.

While a possible asking price is not suggested, Neto has a contract at Wolves until 2027 and it is acknowledged that any bid from Liverpool may have to be higher if they recoup astronomical money for Salah.

Neto has just started his fifth season with the West Midlands outfit, a total of 12 goals and 17 assists coming from his 118 appearances in all tournaments.
