Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger urges caution over his side's title chances as the Gunners move top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that it is "a good feeling" to move top of the Premier League but has urged caution in a competitive title race.

The Gunners went top of the pile courtesy of a 4-1 victory over rock-bottom Sunderland in Saturday's early kickoff, but could be displaced by Manchester City and Liverpool, who are in action at 3pm and 5.30pm respectively.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also in hot pursuit of the top three in what is shaping up to be one of the most hotly-fought championships in recent years.

"It is a good feeling to go first. At least you have one good day," Wenger told reporters in his post-match press conference. "Top is where everyone wants to be, but it is too early and too tight as well. There are so many good teams in the league. You go game after game.

"I am happy with the performance and result. And our spirit. We missed many chances and at 1-1 we had a chance to lose a game that should have been over. We kept going and got the goals. It was important to win today. We had six wins then a draw last week at home which was disappointing.

"Another game without a win might have created uncertainties. But the last ten minutes were relaxing."

The Gunners, who are now unbeaten in their last 14 matches in all competitions, next face a trip to Ludogorets in the Champions League in midweek before welcoming London rivals Spurs to the Emirates next weekend.
