Pedro welcomes competition

Barcelona attacker Pedro welcomes competition for places at the Camp Nou amid speculation surrounding his future.

Barcelona attacker Pedro has welcomed competition for places at the Camp Nou this season.

The Spaniard has started the season in the team, but faces a battle to remain in the XI when Neymar returns to full fitness and Luis Suarez becomes available after his four-month suspension.

The rise of teenagers Munir El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez, who have both scored for Barca in the league this season, has also placed Pedro's long-term future in doubt.

However, the 27-year-old has praised the quality of his fellow forwards and said that he will fight for his place in the team.

"What I want to do is keep working and compete with the forwards that we have here, they are the best in the world and it's never been easy to hold down a place in this team," Inside Spanish Football quotes Pedro as saying at a press conference.

"We are all motivated by what the likes of Munir and Sandro are doing at the moment, they want to do well for the team. And Luis [Suarez] too, when he is here, we'll be even better."

Pedro has been linked with a move away from the club in recent days, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus all believed to be preparing bids.
