Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus is reportedly set to be sidelined for three months after picking up a knee injury at the World Cup.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus is reportedly set to be sidelined for up to three months.

Jesus came off the bench in Brazil's opening two group games at the 2022 World Cup, before he was presented with a starting place for Friday's 1-0 defeat to Cameroon, but he was withdrawn in the 64th minute after complaining about a problem in his right knee.

Despite being ruled out for the rest of the World Cup, Jesus was initially expected to be out of action for up to a month.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the knee injury is believed to be worse than initially feared, and as a result, the Arsenal forward could be sidelined until March.

The 25-year-old joined the Gunners from Manchester City during the summer, and he has helped Arsenal top the Premier League table, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 14 league games this season.

With Jesus expected to be unavailable for up to three months, Eddie Nketiah is Arsenal's only recognised striker, which could force the Gunners to strengthen their forward line in the January transfer window.

Jesus will be cheering on his Brazil teammates on Monday when they face South Korea in the last 16 of the World Cup.
