Scottish League Two roundup: Annan edge thriller, Arbroath march on

Annan Athletic edge a seven-goal thriller with East Stirling, when Arbroath march on with a 5-1 thrashing of Montrose away from home.

Arbroath remain top of Scotland's League Two this afternoon after a 5-1 thrashing of Montrose, with Annan Athletic also edging out East Stirlingshire in a seven-goal thriller.

The Stirlingshire side almost staged a remarkable comeback with two goals in the last five minutes bringing the scoreline back to 4-3, though Annan were able to hang on for the three points that leave them comfortably midtable.

Paul McManus netted twice for Arbroath who remain eight points ahead of nearest rivals Queen's Park, who at least managed to keep pace with the league leaders after a 3-0 home win over East Fife.

Elsewhere there were 2-1 wins for both Albion Rovers and Clyde, who notched home wins over Berwick and Elgin City respectively.

Results in full: Albion 2-1 Berwick, Annan Athletic 4-3 East Stirling, Clyde 2-1 Elgin, Montrose 1-5 Arbroath, Queen's Park 3-0 East Fife
